Youth Shelters and Family Services is seeking a collaborative, resourceful, reliable, thorough and flexible leader with extensive experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector, as the Executive Director. This individual will lead a group of individuals dedicated to the mission of helping youth experiencing homelessness and will provide leadership and direction in fulfilling and advancing the organization’s mission. Founded in 1980, Youth Shelters and Family Services operates in five Northern New Mexico counties and has a track record of steady program management and financial stability. The Executive Director is responsible for the effective administration of program operations and grants, the fiscal integrity of the organization, for working closely with collaborative partners, governmental entities, and private organizations, and for communicating effectively with the volunteer Board of Directors. Requirements include cultural inclusiveness, high integrity, and commitment to mission. This position reports to the Board of Directors and is located at the YSFS headquarters in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Salary will be competitive and based upon the applicant’s level of experience. Benefits package includes vacation, health and dental insurance.

Relief workers needed for programs serving in crisis, runaway and homeless youth.

  • Provide direct care and supervision, outings, activities, and life skills for youth in 24/7 residential youth programs and street outreach and drop-in services for a street outreach program

  • Days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and some overnights on a come as needed basis

Dynamic full time position for a motivated person. This position is serving the needs of Homeless Youth in Santa Fe County through a “Housing First” approach.It is an incredible opportunity to assist in housing youth who are in need of support. We provide rental assistance, house hunting support, case management, home visits, access to community resources, and overall support necessary to transition youth to a permanent housing opportunities. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, but not dwell in sympathy; will be able to meet applicants in the physical, mental, emotional, and functional level where they present; and will be able to present professionally and advocate with Landlords.

This position has a high percentage (>75%) direct client support and community network and a somewhat lower percentage of paperwork and documentation comparative to other positions in the social services field.

Youth Shelters and Family Services seeking Grant Writer to prepare proposals and grant applications and grant reports; prepare quarterly newsletter, actively create content for organization’s social media platforms, identify, develop and respond to public and private grant opportunities, participate in periodic audits of grants as necessary.
